Boughs and Blossoms Wreath Card

Today I share some projects that we created during a recent in person class using the Boughs and Blossoms Bundle.

The Catalogue is always a fabulous source of inspiration and sometimes CASing a project is a good starting point. A card using this bundle in the catalogue caught my eye, so I set to recreating it my way.

Creating my way

Starting with a Pool Party cardbase, I added a Timber Embossed matting layer of the same colour. Embossing helps add texture and interest with little fuss.

Using a Water Painter and a mix of Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green, I swished colour to off cuts of Shimmery White cardstock. Once dry, I used the Bough Punch to punch out a pile of leaves and a few blank buds. With the buds, I added colour where needed. I like the variation that using a water painter gives to the leaves.

On more Shimmery White cardstock, three flowers from the stamp set were stamped in Calypso Coral before fussy cutting. Arranging a wreath, I added the stamped flowers allowing space for a die cut sentiment.

This second card started life the same but with a randomly stamped matting layer. Tone on tone I used the same Pool Party ink as the cardstock.

Having cut a panel of shimmery White cardstock the same width of the card, I set to stamping the flowers. Using a Post it Note, I masked the focal flower to be able to stamp flowers either side that would sit behind. The masks in place helped when I added the Pear Pizzazz leaves. This was all fussy cut and added with Dimensionals to allow for some punched leaves and buds to be added behind.

A mixed Die cut and stamped sentiment helped complete this card.
