Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday hop, where the Team are at the Market and I bring Cherries.
A warm welcome if you’ve hopped on over from my dear friend Aurélie‘s blog where I’m sure you’ve been inspired with market produce.
I took my inspiration from Cherries. Personally, I dislike cherry flavoured things but I love fresh cherries like these. Buying fresh fruit and vegetables weighed into brown paper bags is much nicer than buying pre packaged Supermarket produce.
Thinking of scales had me thinking of the soon to retire Measure of Love Stamp set, which is where I took the scales and small cherries from. I wanted a dark cherry colour so chose to use Merry Merlot with Garden Green stalks. Thinking of bundling the cherries up in gingham cloth, I chose a Soft Succulent Gingham paper from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.
Taking coordinating Blends Pens in Soft Succulent, I coloured the body of the scales in adding shading beneath the bowl. Die cutting this image with a layering circle I was able to layer with a scalloped crumb cake circle layer, which teamed with the tag. This tiny tag came from the Meadows Dies set and reminded me of the rustic market price tags we often see.
Sizing up the Cherries
With the desire for larger cherries in the foreground, I took the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set and inked up the mini peaches with Merry Merlot. These stamped with die cut Garden Green leaves, allowed me to simulate yet more larger cherries.
Carrying the images and colours over into the inside of the card, helps to pull the theme over. This bowl was again coloured using our Alcohol Blends Pens.
Quite a simple little layout and theme but a cute one that I really enjoyed creating.
Next up in the hop is my dear friend Annette who I’m sure has some wonderful Market themed inspiration for us. I look forward to seeing this and I hope you do too.
Thank you for hopping by today …. Enjoy the rest of the hop and all of the inspiration throughout.
