All Star Tutorial Hop – New Horizon

The All Star Tutorial Design Team have been playing with the On the Horizon Suite ready for this month’s Tutorial Bundle. This blog hop is to share even more inspiration using this amazing suite of products but these are NOT the projects you will find in the Tutorial Bundle itself.

I decided to team up the New Horizon Papers with the Inspiring Canopy Tree Dies that I thought would work well. Cutting an entire internal matting layer of the patterned paper, I used the excess on the front of this card and trimmed down the trees. These Dies are fabulous but are sadly due to retire and have been reduced from £30 to just £18.

Layering the tree canopy up with two shades of green, added depth and interest. Head further into your walk and you’ll find the interest continues onto the inside of this card.

I enjoy making a Shadow Box card from time to time and thought it would work really well with this suite. The Stitched Rectangle Dies offered ease of cutting the aperture from the inside of this card.

The patterned paper was then adhered to the back panel with a scattering of birds stamped onto it. In hindsight, I wished I’d stamped them a little lower.

You can see the depth created with this style of card. The woodgrain image within the stamp set was used to stamp tone on tone to the Soft Suede fence panels. Again, I should have added this to the tree bark if I’d thought of it sooner.

Keeping to one colour for the tree canopy on the inside of this card, allowed my eye to be taken off into the distance.

I love the detail and enjoyment of this card. There is plenty of space for you to write your message on the inside free panel or the back if you like.
