This past week had me enjoy a belated 50th Birthday Gift on my 10 year anniversary with Stampin’ Up! I was quite literally in the moment at Ragdale Hall Health Spa, an hour north of me. Hubby buys me vouchers for most gifts, as I visit at least once a year. This was a belated gift was from 2020.
This fabulous building was home for me for three wonderful nights. My room was at the top of this central part of the main building and offered the most comfortable bed.
My stay started with a wonderfully relaxing Candlelight Stretch that I followed with a body scrub and massage. This was the perfect way to unwind for my first good night’s sleep. Each day I enjoyed just one pampering treatment … a massage one day, facial another and nails on the day I departed but it was my Reflexology Treatment that I enjoyed the most.
I find Reflexology so interesting and it’s amazing what it can discover about the imbalances in your body … and with the amount of stress I’ve been under of late, it was of no surprise I was all over the place.
Good food enjoyed daily, from breakfast in my room, to a buffet lunch and a three course dinner. Suffering from the symptoms associated with Tree Pollen I found drinking herbal tea with honey helpful. I sounded full of cold but wasn’t, but sat outside on the verandah colouring. On my last evening, I enjoyed a glass of wine in the sunshine whilst doing a spot of colouring. I didn’t want to enjoy a glass before then, as I didn’t want to spoil the effects of my treatments.
Watercolouring
Colouring is one of my favourite past times as a kid, especially using Watercolour Pencils. Life can often be so busy, that we don’t allow ourselves the time to get lost in the moment. Pre stamped images were perfect to take away with two packs of Watercolour Pencils. When others would sit and get lost in a good book, I would sit and colour on my clipboard. Sat outside in the sunshine or curled up in the comfort of a sofa, I’d get lost in the moment of colouring. I was in my happy place for sure.
I coloured many images and had the company of Jay from Mitosu Crafts in my ear, who offers great tips and instructions. He gave a fabulous reminder for me and had such a calming voice to craft along with company.
In the Moment
With so many images from the In the Moment set coloured, I share a few cards today and will share more through the week.
This sentiment speaks volumes … we can’t be there for others, if we don’t look after ourselves. Giving myself this time away to recharge, was the best tonic I could have had. Permission to switch off and not be busy with home chores and work.
The colours I used for this first image teamed so beautifully with the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper pack. These are colours I seldom use but really enjoyed doing so.
Brightening things up a little, I started work on the glow of a sunset. Again, these colours worked perfectly with this Flowering Fields paper pattern. Being productive in this way, felt right and relaxing and allowed me the chance to slow the pace, switch off and sleep well. Colouring is a fabulous space for mindfulness and great for your mental health.
This final card, I took the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to the Designer Series Paper. This gave both texture and interest with the mottled watercolour wash paper. The cardstock colours chosen were all to tie in with the colours used within to colour.
Stamping with Black memento, the images were coloured using dry Watercolour Pencils on Basic White cardstock. A Blender pen is a great tool to help smooth out lines if you prefer that finish.
I thoroughly enjoyed being in the moment with this wonderful stamp set and colouring method and highly recommend it. Ideal to do when listening to music or an audio book. I really didn’t have to pack much to take away, which was exactly why I chose these.
If you don’t already have our Watercolour Pencils, then you’ll want to add them to your next order. They are super soft and with colours that coordinate with our regular colour families, you’ll be able to team up colours beautifully.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my share today …. I thank you once again for all your support of me over the past 10 years and hope you’ll continue to follow me for the next 10 years.
