You Can Create it with some Sweet Talk

You Can Create it this month with our Quarterly Papercraft kit using Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Talk Papers.

This month’s kit we had to play with, comprised of papers from the Sweet Talk Suite. We always get a supply of incidental materials to pull from, which you can see on the left here.

These bright cheerful colours screamed playful cards to me, so I decided to ink up my new Nuts & Bolts Stamp Set. The Sweet Talk Suite lends itself to Valentines but I also wanted to show how it could be used for other purposes like a Birthday. With papers left over long after Valentines, I wanted to be sure to get the most out of my paper pack.

Colourful stripes were the basis for this card, which I continued through to the Pool Party cardstock matting layer. Laying the striped paper panel over the cardstock, I was able to see exactly where I needed to score. The Stampin’ Up!  Paper Trimmer is perfect for creating scorelines like these. You can see that they are not even but simply follow the lines of the pattern paper, which I cut on a slant and adhered flat.

Pulling in FREE Product

The Balloons, presents and party hat all came from FREE Sale-a-Bration Stamp Sets. Driving By offered the balloons and presents and the Awesome Otters but Party Hat. Our Stampin’ Up!  alcohol Blends Pens were perfect for colouring and creating this perfectly blended look.

This card makes me smile.

Taking the theme back to Valentines and the initial thoughts for the Sweet Talk papers, I used my Real Red cardstock to create a duplicated matting layer to my first card with an embossed panel. See how the Hive Embossing Folder almost looks like Bolts?! Wanting to focus on the robot’s heart, a simple print from this paper pack was used.

My final card, saw me pull together striking colours and shapes for a fun collage. A banner of striped paper, a vellum heart all sitting upon a stitched ticket shape. A hap-hazard layout that is great for using up scraps.

A fun trio of cards that are bright and cheerful and leave me with enough patterned paper to create yet more.
