The Around the World on Wednesday Team are Casing the Catalogue for this month’s hop.
A warm welcome to this month’s Hop and for those who’ve hopped over from my dear friend Emma Goddard I know you’ll have been inspired. This month we are casing the catalogue and switching up the products and colours of what we create.
I have chosen to case this sweet little card (bottom right) from Page. I particularly liked the layout and enjoyed switching up the products. To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit.
I liked the fresh blue of this little card, so chose an equally fresh Soft Sea Foam for my card base. Taking a basic white layer the size of the card front, I then used the stunning Detailed Dahlias Die to do a partial cut on a diagonal.
Partial Die Cutting
To achieve a partial die cut, you set your die onto your cardstock, sitting on your bottom cutting plate. Taking your top cutting plate, you sit this to the line where you want the die to cut before running through your Cut & Emboss Machine. Where there are two plates, the die will cut, where there is only one, the die will not.
It’s a little difficult to see here, as I then added my sentiment panel. This die cut panel was stuck flat to the cardbase.
Just like the card I am casing, I set my sentiment panel across the diagonal line, adding a scattering of mini flowers around it.
A pop of Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon and a single flower helped to lift this otherwise pastel card. A few carefully placed Iridescent Rhinestones and my card was complete.
If I were to make this again, I think I’d make the angle of the partial die cut a little steeper but it’s a super layout.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the others have CASED and what they have come up with. A full list of those hopping around the world today can be found below.
Next up is the amazing Angie McKenzie herself and I know she’ll wow us with her creation, so enjoy!
Thank you for hopping by today …. Enjoy the rest of the hop and all of the inspiration.
