For the past few month’s my In Person classes in Cambridgeshire have started back up and I’ve loved seeing everyone. These past few weeks we have been playing with the stamp set, Sweets & Treats.
Last night saw the last of this bank of classes at Dunelm Mill in Huntingdon where we created these three cards.
It’s often hard to think of a theme for a Birthday card for someone with a birthday so close to Christmas. This card was created with a festive vibe but still focusing on the fact it’s a Birthday. We pulled in the beautiful Wintery 3D Embossing Folder for the background and some Designer Series paper from the Sweet Stockings suite. I love the blend of Pool Party with Real Red as we’ve used here.
The fun die cut shapes of the chopping board, mixing bowl and whisk come from the What’s Cooking Bundle. Such fun simple elements to help pull this theme together. Who wouldn’t want Sweets & Treats when a cupcake and cookie can look this good?
Tri Fold Card
We stepped things up a little for this next card, pulling out all the stops for a Christmas Tri Fold Card. Firstly we cut an aperture through the front two layers of the card before embossing the top layer with the Merry Melody Embossing folder.
The aperture was cut using the Cloche Dies which fit beautifully to this cake stand. Stamping a Christmas pudding through the aperture to the next layer, we set to colouring in with our Blends Pens. A layer of Window Sheet was then added between the front of the card and the musical embossed layer.
Christmas Pudding or Pies, there’s often so much cooking that goes on throughout the festive period. It made for a fun greeting by carrying the sentiment over from the front into the inside of the card, piecing the words I wanted.
The final opening of this Tri Fold card revealed yet another Pie, finished with a sprig of Holly. Such a fun card to create.
Easel Card
Our final card was an Easel card with more of the shapes and images we’d already used. A window sheet cloche was added to this cake stand to cover yet more delicious cupcakes. Cupcakes for a Birthday.
The cupcake stand was stamped onto scraps of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. This reduced the amount of colouring that we’d have otherwise needed to do for these cards and I know the ladies love to fussy cut.
A simple Happy Birthday raised sentiment panel was added to the base to act as the stopper for the top of the card.
A fun trio of cards that certainly kept us all busy colouring and fussy cutting. Many of the ladies went home with this stamp set to continuing creating yet more cards at home. It’s a fun set that won’t date, since the images are all generic to the festive period.
I hope you have enjoyed my share with you today as much as the ladies enjoyed creating these cards. Future events can be seen by clicking on the Events tab at the top. More being added.

Hi Mikaela, I like your cards, but my favourites are the trifold and easel cards, could i have the size for them please? cheers and thankyou, Marilyn.
Hi Marilyn, Apologies for my delayed reply, your comment had gone to a Spam folder. the trifold card is quite simply two standard card bases interlocked with one opening one way and the other opening the other and the easel card is half sheet of A4 (or letter size card) cut in half lengthwise and scored in half. Then fold one side in half again. You then just need to embellish the front as you like and ensure you have a stopper at the front to stop it from dropping flat. I hope that helps x
Brilliant!
