With One Stamp At a Time this month, we show you how to Step it Up.
Welcome to this month’s hop where we show you how to Step it Up from an Ink and paper creation to the works. I’ve taken the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set that’s currently FREE During Sale-a-Bration and used this for my inspiration.
My creation started from an unusual colour scheme that I wanted to try. Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight, Poppy Parade and Bumblebee. The more of these colours I added, the more I liked the combination. It came from some colours I saw on a Parrot.
This card uses mainly Ink and Paper. A single stamped Dahlia to the centre of a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock. Adding some blue leaves did feel slightly strange but I’m still pleased with the overall effect. A cardbase of Blackberry Bliss brought about some richness and a flash of Bumblebee Ribbon finished it off.
Step it Up
This card shows how you can quite easily, Step it up a little. I added a flash of Bumblebee cardstock to the outer sides of the Shimmery White card layer and bannered the ends of the sentiment panel. By introducing Two-Step Stamping, I was able to add further detail to the leaves and flower head. By fussy cutting these, it allowed for layering and dimension.
Step it Up again …
My final card saw me introduce some Die cutting and a water colour wash background. The die shapes came from the Penned Flowers Die pack and were perfect for this combination. Adding a scalloped edge to the Bumblebee layer added both texture and detail. A wash of Bumblebee Ink to the shimmery white layer gave a glowing back drop for a cluster of flowers that now included a smaller yellow flower.
I heat embossed the final part of the sentiment to again add variety here and scattered the card with self adhesive sequins. The finished card really pleased me.
Here are my three cards together showing how, when we Step it up, we can create a cohesive wow. All items used for these cards are listed below and a £90 order would earn you this beautiful Delicate Dahlias stamp set for Free if you wished.
I hope you have enjoyed my share with you today and that you’ll take a hop around the rest of the Team for yet more inspiration.
