Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop where this month we’re sharing things that are Artfully Stepped Up.
Welcome to this month’s blog hop, where we are sharing our Artfully Stepped Up projects to inspire you. A series of stepped up cards can be a fun way of advancing and using your products. Being a lover of texture, layers and detail, I often find peeling things back a little difficult. I often start with the stepped up version and peel things backwards, rather than Step it up.
I hope you’ve seen what inspiration Yvonne Spikmans – Van Bruggen has shared with us today before joining me and if not, that you’ll hop round to see all of the inspiration.
My peeled back card consisted of a white card base and a simple Gray Granite layer. Stamping the floral image from the Hand-Penned Bundle in Whisper White Craft Ink, I added a simple sentiment.
The Lovely Labels Pick a Punch is perfect for adding detail to a sentiment panel. Mounting this over a pretty Blushing Bride ribbon, I added a scattering of Elegant Faceted Gems.
Artfully Stepped Up
This next card steps things up a little, as I add more texture, layers and detail.
Stamping the same image over the same colour matting layer, I coloured the flower heads with a Chalk marker. Using a chalk marker on a darker cardbase, allows you to add colour easily. Very subtly, I added Calypso Coral from a Watercolour Pencil before Embossing the entire panel with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. This gives great texture and interest.
Stepping things up, I die cut from Basic White cardstock, a skeleton flourish of flowers to sit beneath my ribbon layer. This time I Die cut a label form the Meadow Dies set, which also has this cute little tag.
Detail like the Elegant Faceted Gems and a Gray Granite Twine Bow, help to finish this card beautifully.
I was pleased with the finish of these two cards and I hope I have inspired you.
Now be sure to hop on over to see what Jeanna Kay has in store for us. I’m excited to see what the Team have created today.
