I’ve been having fun playing with a lot of new products from the New August – December 2021 Mini Catalogue. The Christmas to Remember Bundle with Pinecones Dies had my mind creatively racing to produce this.
The moment I saw the Pinecones Dies, I knew that I wanted to create a scene turning them into trees. I wanted to show how versatile the image was and how you could create something entirely different to festive foliage.
Masking up a piece of Basic White cardstock, I used our Blending Brushes to ink up a wintery sky. I used a series of Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. For the snow banks, I added a touch of Smoky Slate with Balmy Blue. Cutting the Pinecones from two colours, Evening Evergreen and Old Olive, I was able to create depth.
Layering the pinecones as intended and sitting them upside down, I was able to trick the eye into believing they were trees.
A wintry snow capped mountain wouldn’t be complete without the snow. Diluting some White Classic Ink with water and flicking with an old paint brush, I was able to splatter the sky and trees with snow.
This sentiment seemed the most fitting to add to this card. A sentiment that comes from the Christmas to Remember. I was so pleased with how this simple card worked out. A great card for using up scraps of green cardstock and turning pinecones into something entirely different.
I hope you like my share with you today and it’s allowed you to think outside the box with this bundle.
