You Can Create it with Stampin’ Up!’s Ice Cream Corner

You Can Create it this month with our Quarterly Papercraft kit using the Ice Cream Corner Suite. Right now we have the perfect weather here in the UK for Ice Creams, so this seems so topical.

This month’s kit we had to play with, had two pieces of the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper and coordinating cardstock and ribbon. We always have an incidental pack to pull from. You can see this Quarter’s pack below.

My Papercraft Inspiration

I created two cards with my supplies. This first card saw me use the Shimmery White Cardstock from the incidental pack. A wash of Bermuda Bay Ink created using a Water Painter helped back the focal point you see here. A simple torn strip of striped Designer Series paper  gave a colourful panel for the sentiment to sit upon. This sentiment was taken from the new Art In Bloom Stamp Set. I heat embossed this Black to give a great sheen to it.

The Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper is great to gussy cut, which is what I did with my second piece of DSP. A very simple but effective little card and one that could be recreated with so many different papers.

With the remaining Cardstock in this month’s packet, I created this little slider card that is opened when you pull the bow out. There is no need to untie the bow, just simply use it as a point to draw the card out. I’ve used a narrow strip of the patterned paper I had left after fussy cutting the Ice Creams to edge the internal card.

The Layering Circles Dies are a great staple to have in your craft stash. I die cut the circles from the matting layer before giving a Bermuda Bay Ink wash and adding the scalloped circle layers. The Blackberry Bliss cardstock layer died in nicely with the ribbon and the central Ice Cream.

I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative with these fun papers and that you’ll realise the benefits of fussy cutting the Ice Creams.
