Last week’s Facebook Live saw me Sharing Sunshine and my Biggest Wish. Two new stamp sets that I’d not inked up until now.
Inspiration came from a recent Blog hop where we had to Step it up, which is exactly what I did here.
Back to basics
Keeping things simple, I cut strips of cardstock to form a rainbow and sandwiched this between layers of white card. Matting this on a darker base allowed the colours to better sing and coordinated with the sentiment.
This card was kept simple with just stamping and card cutting. No Die Cutting or embossing, so a very simple card. The detail travelled over to the inside of this card with the rainbow detail towards the top.
Step it up with Embossing
By adding both Dry Embossing and Heat Embossing, I was able to add texture and interest. Detail was also gained by adding a thin strip of silver foil cardstock to the edges of the rainbow.
The same layout but an otherwise stepped up card with greater detail.
Stepping up to add Die Cutting
Where there’s a Rainbow there’s sunshine and rain so it only seemed right to introduce Sharing Sunshine to this card. A super fun stamp set that showcases a smiley sunshine that was perfect for this friendship card.
The stitched detail on the clouds came from the new Die Set call Give it a Whirl. The Clouds are a side to how this set works but there are so many fabulous pieces in this set, that it’s a must have for your collection.
Staggering the bold with the script font of Biggest Wish gives a fabulous look for a sentiment. A real playful feel about it and one that can be stamped in two colours.
I so enjoyed creating this set of cards. A real fun factor about them and one that can still be viewed on replay HERE.
Hopefully this has brought a smile to your face.
