With One Stamp At a Time this month, we are going masculine with our Masculine Boys in the Hood theme.
Welcome to this month’s hop where we are going Masculine with the Boys in the Hood.
With the launch of our Kits Collection recently, I decided to pull from the All Inclusive Kit, For the Guys. It’s a fabulous kit showing mountainous scenes in very earthy colours.
You receive all the various elements in the kit to create 10 fabulous card in two designs. You also receive a clear block, adhesive foam pads an Ink Spot and a great stamp set. This stamp set has pretty much all the masculine sentiments that you’ll want to use on other projects.
Not wishing to reinvent the wheel, I decided to slightly adapt this kit and create a card and mini Gift Box from the elements received. I did pull out one additional sheet of cardstock to add to this project.
For the Guys Alternative
Looking at this card, you’d wonder really what the difference was from the kit original, until you open it. Firstly I created a tent card using the coordinating card colour, Grey Granite. This card was then extended to help depict the mountains and depth of field you’d have looking at this scene.
Adding a further fold to the front, did require me using two sets of trees for one card but it certainly made an impact. By cutting a second card base, I was able to create this fold and matt the inside of the card with the same colour.
It’s not a massive difference but it’s one that’s unusual with its extended tree scene.
Gift box made from a Card
Using the remaining cardstock from the second card, I was able to create the base for this gift box. The top came from the off cuts of Grey Granite and elements designed to be used on the second card within this kit.
The shield style label was the perfect shape to score and overhand the edge of this box. Big enough to take some small treats or even potentially a slim tie. All of the elements, except for the Grey Granite card, came from the All Inclusive Kit. It really is a kit worth looking at even if the cards are not your style, as the Stamp Set is just fabulous.
