Today, the Stampin’ Creative Team are bringing you inspiration using a Sketch Challenge.
Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop where we are sharing inspiration that’s generated from a Sketch. Interpreted differently, a sketch is a great place to start your creative juices flowing. Change the orientation and switch up the elements, a sketch challenge can be fun. The large circular panel here could be used for a sentiment but see how I interpreted it differently.
I have teamed two Bundles together … one from the current Mini catalogue and one from the new Annual Catalogue.
Always in my Heart and the Beautiful Tree Dies, from the Beauty of the Earth Suite, work well together. Smooshing Blushing Bride and Petal Pink Ink onto an acetate sheet and spritzing with water, I transferred it then to Watercolour Paper. This beautiful mottled effect helped generate depth and texture to the tree canopy.
I adore the beautiful blossom that you start to see at this time of year and wanted to recreate this type of effect. I chose a Gray Granite card base to match the elegant Satin Ribbon and added a matting layer of Blushing Bride. By Die cutting the tree canopy in Pear Pizzazz and turning it around, gave for an off set double layer for more depth.
A strip of vellum gave that extra layer, without bringing too much to an already busy card. I love how the two birds in the Tree Dies sit facing each other.
A flat bow and a few Elegant Faceted Gems and my card was complete.
