Hydrangea Haven on Hydrangea Hill

Today, I share two of the cards I created and shared within our Mini Catalogue Launch Party back in January. Hydrangea Hill is a beautiful suite of products that create the most incredible Hydrangea flower.

On 2nd January I teamed up with Tanya Reese from Australia to offer another online catalogue launch party. With two suites each, I designed with Hydrangea Hill.

This first card used the Hydrangea Haven Stamp set and coordinating Dies to help create this incredible flower head. A split card, I part embossed the back panel with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

Stamping the images onto Watercolour Paper using Versamark and heat embossing White, allows for some resistance of ink. The Water Painters allow you to add patches of colour that give a mottled effect that you see here. A gentle background stamp of Soft Sea Spray helps to lift the flower and give depth to the card. Using Misty Moonlight, helped to coordinate the sentiment with the blue tones seen in the flower.

If you give a wash of ink colour to your remaining Watercolor paper it saves you from having to have alternatives coloured cardstock.

Adding Designer Series Paper

Adhering strips of Designer Series Paper to a matting layer, I die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies for detail. Wrapping a length of Gorgeous Grape Ribbon around I added another stitched rectangle. This rectangle had been pre stamped with a wash of Soft Sea spray ink and the sentiment in Misty Moonlight.

I wanted to show how you could layer up this flower using the smaller images within the bundle. I think you can see the dimension achieved.

For someone who isn’t a great lover of purple and lavender tones, I have actually fallen in love with this suite.
