You Can Create it with Poinsettia Place

You Can Create it this month with our Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper.

This month the You Can Create it Team are bringing you inspiration using our November Packet using Poinsettia Place. Below is what you’d find in November’s packet, most of the other items I use were pulled from the incidental packet.  Add a few other products, to see what you can create and share your creations with us.

I decided to take a pair of Paper snips to the sheet of Designer Series Paper, Poinsettia Place to cut some focal flowers. You can easily change up the colour of the Poinsettia by colouring them in using our Real Red Blends Pens. With the remaining paper, I managed to add a strip of paper to the spine of the card, showing the reverse side.

The Subtle 3D Embossing Folder helped to add texture to the sheet of Soft Suede card stock that I split as matting layers to the white card bases. Using the Brushed Metallic Foil and some Stitched Rectangle Dies, I set to cutting some small rectangle frames. I liked how these gave a lose frame for where the Poinsettia would sit.

Cut & Emboss

Tone on Tone stamping of the leaves onto Old Olive card stock was a great base to die cut.  These dies have detailed embossing dies that help add further texture. The little white berries from the sheet of Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper were also die cut.

You can just about see in this photo above that I splattered the card base with Soft Suede ink from the Blends Pen. A subtle detail but it helps link everything together. The skinny sentiment was heat embossed white and cut from a larger sentiment, which I really liked.

The final detail came from a strip of gold edged ribbon that I added and the few Real Red Rhinestones that gave some sparkle. I liked how these turned out and it’s not every day that I choose to colour in Designer Series Paper.
