We’re going Around the World on Wednesday to bring you creative inspiration with Something Old, Something New.
A warm welcome to all who’ve hopped over from my lovely friend Aurélie from France. She is so talented and I’m sure will have shared some fabulous inspiration.
I am teaming up the Playful Pets Suite from the Annual Catalogue with Something new from our upcoming Mini Catalogue. The Stamp Set used for the sentiments coordinates with a new Card Kit of the same name, ‘You are Amazing’. I was drawn to this stamp set for the large bold sentiments and the big speech bubble.
These two dogs look like they are socialising and one like he’s cheerfully barking Happy Birthday. These were stamped using Memento Black Ink and coloured in using Stampin’ blends. The Dies allowed me to carefully cut these characters. The sentiment was Stamped off by using second generation stamping, allowing the smoky slate speech bubble to be a great backdrop for the sentiment.
The base for each card was the same with a strip of Designer Series Paper edged with a strip of Black Glimmer Paper. The small amount of glimmer paper on there still allows this to easily be used for a masculine birthday.
By masking up the bottom half of the sentiment used for this second card allowed me to just stamp Hip Hip Hooray in Real Red. Picking out a section of a sentiment allows you to tailor the use of the card.
