This week’s Facebook Live saw me Press on to the Sweetest Time with Cookies and Candy Canes. I showed how to reverse a mug image from the Stamp Set Press on. I then showed how you can throw pretty much every stamp set at it to create a fun festive collage. Why use one stamp set when you can use several?
My first card made use of the Mug from the set that I showed how to reverse stamp it to get the handle on the other side. A useful technique to know. I sponged up the background cardstock to create an unusual grey blue colour that worked so well with Real Red.
Reverse Stamping
Stamp your image using Black Memento Ink onto a silicone sheet and then press this onto your cardstock. If you were to use the Stamparatus, you could repeat to get a darker image.
Stamping the water from the Waterfront stamp set, heat embossing white and trimming, creates the best froth for the tops of drinks.
The background was splattered with Wink of Stella to give a slightly sparkly look.
When you can decide on the base colour … do all three.
This next card grew and grew. Such a fun card to create and a fun card to look at, I absolutely loved this one.
The background matting layer was again sponged with Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy on Basic Grey cardstock and splattered with Wink of Stella. The centre had a swirl of white ink to help focus the eye to the middle of the card.
A scattering of Snowflakes gave that frosty feel and the need for a hot drink or two. Candy Canes and Cookies accompanied these two hot drinks. The Take out cup was so fun to create using paper piecing but the hardest part of this card design was the colour for the base.
With much debate and the suggestion by one viewer for an Old Olive base, it was decided I needed to make a set of three. I have to say, I love all three. I so enjoyed creating these cards and will find it hard to part with these.
