Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop where this month we’re spicing things up a little. This month’s theme was to choose a Spice Girl and create with them in mind. When I think of a Ginger Spice Latte, I thought of our stamp set, Press On.
I can’t wait to see which Spice Girl the lovely Sara Nell Langland has used for her inspiration. If you’ve hopped over from Sara’s blog, then you’ll have already seen.
Be that Autumn has arrived, I can’t help but think of Pumpkins and my love for Spiced Pumpkin Muffins with a Frosted Cream Cheese topping. In my flying days to America, I’d always source out my nearest Starbucks for these muffins. Now I don’t usually mess with my coffee but I do know that it’s about now that they start to advertise their Spiced Ginger Latte’s.
Step into my Coffee shop and “Tell me what you want, what you really, really want”
In preparation for your order, I stamped a couple of mugs using the Press On Stamp set, one in reverse to the other and added a patterned cuff.
Creating a Reversed Image
To create a reversed mug, I first stamped the image onto my silicone sheet before pressing this down onto the whisper white cardstock. I did the same onto the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper before fussy cutting the cuff.
Spiced Ginger Latte you say? …
Frothing up your Milk
A nice chilled temperament is needed for this bit and the stamp set, Waterfront. Taking a scrap of Vellum, I was able to stamp the mountains using Versamark and heat emboss White before fussy cutting. This created the perfect amount of foam for my Latte.
To assemble my card and pull it all together, I chose the Cinnamon Cider card base from the Flowers for Every Season suite and added a matting layer of Watercolour paper. This had received a wash of Bumblebee Ink and randomly stamped Cinnamon Cider Coffee Beans. The tinniest trim of Pretty Peacock ribbon edged the base to pull together all the colours from the patterned paper.
Sour Cream Container
Again, a Sour Cream Container only seemed right as a little treat holder for today’s project.
Yet more Spicey colours, Cinnamon Cider and a Ginger Spice Latte mug to embellish and my order were complete.
One Ginger Spiced Latte, complete with Sour Cream Treat holder and all in the Autumnal Gingery, Spiced colours we love. Mmmm now to get baking those a good Spiced Ginger cake on this dreary raining day here in Cambridgeshire, UK.
With your coffee in a take out cup, do hop on over to see what the lovely Jeanna Kay has to offer and which Spice Girl she’s used. Enjoy!
Thanks for hopping by today.
