Welcome to the Candy Hearts Blog Hop for September! Today we are sharing Halloween themed projects. After reading my post, I hope you will hop to the next person on the list below. Be sure to hop around to see ALL the great projects the Candy Hearts have created for you.
It is my absolute pleasure to be hopping with the Candy Hearts this month as a Guest Hopper. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Candy on a few occasions at some Stampin’ Up! events, so I was delighted when she messaged me to ask me to guest hop today.
I know that Halloween is a big thing in America, so I can’t wait to see what her Team have to share on this theme. Not owning any Halloween sets as such but I pulled my images from the Banner Years Stamp Set and was surprised with what I had managed to achieve with so little.
Halloween revolves around the Treats in our village, so I just had to make a Treat Bag. I used the Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper to create the main body of the bag. My favourite of the patterns was this one with the bats on it.
This die-cut sentiment panel reminded me of a short squat tombstone. I dirtied it up a little using Smoky Slate and a sponge dauber. Backing this with a Black Glimmer Ornate panel, added some sparkle and interest. I love how you can change up the colour of our Whisper White Crinkle Ribbon using our Stampin’ Blends. The fun little images were fussy cut using our fabulous paper snips.
A coordinating card was made using the same Banner Year Stamp Set. Randomly stamping over both the Smoky Slate matting layer and the base card with cobwebs gave a link to the paper I then selected. Ruffling one corner of the matting layer and dirtying it up the edges with a sponge dauber blended better with the mock tombstone.
Again, I wanted to include some Black Glimmer paper and decided to mat and layer and edge the spider panel. By trimming the edges off of an Ornate Frame, you can edge pretty much anything you like. A few fun images and a surprise greeting inside and my card were complete.
I have enjoyed creating these two projects and I hope you like what I share. It’s been my pleasure to hop with the Hearts today and I Thank you for hopping with the Hearts also! Be sure to hop around to all the stops. You do not want to miss any of the creativity in this talented group of stampers!
