Nothing’s Better than Cocktails on a hot day

Nothing’s Better than Cocktails on a hot day when I’m melting in my craft room by the heat. Last week’s Facebook Live was in danger of not happening due to the extreme heat that I was experiencing in my summerhouse craft room.

The heat of the sun, the sea breeze and the sound of palm trees waving overhead screams cocktails to me. Many an occasion during my flying days, did I spend my time enjoying Sundowners with my fellow crew members, whilst watching the sun go down. Sun Sets are something quite incredible around our wonderful planet.

Floating Technique

The floating technique is quite fun and can look quite different depending upon the images used and the shape created.

Here I used the cocktails from Nothing’s Better Than stamp set to create a fun, vibrant card. I love how this stamp set offers two-step stamping to infill the lined image with colour.

Using a product called Press and Seal, enabled me to keep the images in one place, whilst adding Dimensional foam pads to the reverse of each image. Positioning the entire circle of images, I could then gently remove the Press and Seal, leaving the finished result.

I stacked three layers of the sentiment to give both height and blackened sides to the raised word.

Two for one

Having placed the cocktail images all over a matting layer that I then die cut, I was left with a piece I could use for a subsequent card. I added some Rainbow Glimmer Paper to this card, both in the word Cocktail and the sun setting behind.
