You Can Create with the Timeless Tropical You Can Create it Papercraft Kit pack. Yes, we’re into a new Quarterly packet and this month we are showcasing our ideas for the Timeless Tropical packet.
This month’s Papercraft Kit pack offers you: two random pieces of 4″x 6″ paper from the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper a length of Braided Burlap Ribbon and an embellishment.
You receive some additional supplies of cardstock to pull from in the kit. I decided to use the brown paper and the pineapples for my project.
Creating two cards, with my first having the opening edge of the card, folded back to reveal the inside, I added the focal point to this fold. It’s a kind of z fold.
Taking the brown Designer Series Paper piece, I ran it through the Bigshot with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder to add texture. The pineapple paper I split between the forward fold and the inside reveal.
Die cut the Pineapple base from either White cardstock or Daffodil Delight if you have a scrap. Sponge entirely the white card or add depth of colour to the top and sides if using yellow. You can cut around the die to create a backing panel.
I die cut the Pineapple top from the spare sheet of Old Olive Cardstock and using the same colour, added ink to the tips of the greenery. You can use the same die piece for shrubbery, as I showed on my second card.
Terracotta Tile is a fabulous muted colour for adding flowers. A Daffodil Delight Blend added colour to some pearl dots to form the flower centres.
You can gain more texture and interest by fraying up the ends of the ribbon. The Gold Foil adds. a little touch of richness. Again I added texture and interest to this second card by embossing and adding stitched detail to the patterned paper scrap.
I found these cards fun to create. They raised a smile by their randomness and colour and I hope you like them.
