The Stampin’ Sunday Team are sharing their favourite Retiring items with you today. Honey and Bees are a real favourite of mine so it was of no surprise that Honey Bee would become a favourite.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today to see what my favourite Retiring product is. The Honey Bee became a firm favourite for me but I didn’t start to share my creations until more recently.
Just over a week ago we had a swarm of Bees in a neighbouring garden. It was incredible to see the swarm in action and the number of Bees collected and moved to a new home. This inspired my first card that was really quite simple.
I teamed up both the Honey Bee Stamp Set with another Favourite Retiring set, Label me Bold. When I saw the smudgy image in Label me Bold, it had me think of the swarm, so I stamped it over the Beehive. A little Thank you was all this card needed with a flash of Gold Glimmer paper. Hard to believe but even our Glimmer Papers are retiring. I love these for a little makes a big impact, yet no glittery mess.
This second card started with a Crushed Curry panel that I randomly stamped the flowers on before dry embossing with the Subtle Embossing Folder. Teaming up the same colours and textures as with the first card, I added another flash of Gold Glimmer Paper and Basic Black Cardstock. This Black Twine comes from the Clubhouse suite.
I stepped things right up for this last card and pulled from other die sets. Randomly stamping tone on tone Crushed Curry flowers, I again dry embossed the entire panel with the Subtle Embossing Folder. The Well Written dies were perfect for die cutting the word happy … I mean, Bee Happy was indeed what I was wishing. I loved the texture that these created.
A smooth black satin ribbon and a die cut panel to back the Detailed Gold Glimmer Bee and my card was nearly complete.
There really is somthing about Crushed Curry for me. Never have I liked a yellow tone so much. It’s screamingly rich and bold and works brilliantly with Black and White.
I will indeed be sad to say goodbye to these retiring favourites. The Honey Bee Bundle, Label me Bold and our Glimmer Papers.
