The Stampin’ Creative Team are creating Whatever the Weather. In uncertain times like this, we really have to dig deep, whatever the weather. Well, that’s exactly the theme this month … Weather and anything associated with changing times.
Pulling together and supporting each other is so important right now and so it was friendships that I decided to turn to.
With such beautiful weather on the day I created this, I was thinking of the Sussex Coastline. I grew up and lived my childhood on Brighton Beach and have such fond memories of sea air, beach huts and seagulls. I’d spend hours on the beach with my dearest friend. This was by far the best starting point for today’s card.
Firstly I used Pool Party ink and a sponge brayer to ink up an ombré effect sky before pulling on the swooshy images in My Meadow. These made for the most perfect of clouds that I stamped in White Ink and Heat Embossed White. I loved how images designed for grass and water, looked perfect as clouds.
A Vellum layer was then wrapped over the entire Pool Party Card base before adding a focal point to the front. This helps to soften the sky further, making it look hazy.
The Stitched Nested Labels were the perfect shape for this little beach scene and the smallest die, perfect for a little tag. The hardest decision I had to make was what colour beach huts I wanted. Almost Ice Cream like, I opted for Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green.
This sentiment is absolutely perfect and speaks volumes. Friends do indeed make the good times better and the hard times easier. A good friend is hard to find but should last the test of time.
I hope you have good friends around you right now and I hope you’re keeping well. Stay safe and thanks for hopping by today.
Amongst friends here, I hope you’ll hop to their pages to see what beautiful creations they’ll have each created. Enjoy.
