Honey Bee Skep – Beehive

The Honey Bee Bundle from the mini Catalogue had me eager to create this Beehive for a Spring/Summer Decor piece. I’d seen the popularity of such a creation grow and I had to have a go myself. Oh my, did I enjoy making it and I do love the whimsical feel it brings.

A project to get your teeth into is just perfect for a weekend in lockdown. Two sets from my stash helped bring the die-cut leaves that I used. Scrunching them and adding movement with a bone folder helped bring these leaves more to life.

The medium Daisy punch teamed with the Perennial Essence Floral Centres create such beautiful life-like daisies.

The yellow body of the bee was created using the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. I had some leftover smokey slate gingham ribbon on my shelf, I thought it worked well with white Flax Ribbon.

The perfect project when you want something not too taxing to create and enjoy.
