The Creation Station Design Team are going as Mad as a Hatter this weekend with a colour mash up.
Sara Levin will have undoubtedly shared some fabulous inspiration in her blog post and if you’ve arrived from there, welcome. Welcome to the Crafty oINK Pen here in the UK where I’m giving you every colour under the sun.
As much as I’m a lover of pastels, I also love colour so to play with it is a joy. I picked out a fun stamp set I’d not long purchased, Birthday Backgrounds and got to play.
Ombré effects can be fun and here I created a kind of ombre using the little row of candles and three ink colours. An extra punch of colour was pulled in with ribbon scraps. Quite a simple card.
This second card was stepped up a little with an extra matting layer and some clever inking. I inked up the streamer image on one side with one colour and the other end with another. Adding some random words can be a fun sentiment and here I heat embossed white on black before adding some Glitter Enamel Dots.
I went a little more all out for this final card. Heat Embossing white on Shimmery White cardstock, I then sponged an ombré effect over the top. Emboss Resist is a fun technique. I sponged with Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade ink. Don’t you think it looks like fireworks?
There are so many fun images in the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set that I wanted to use as many as possible. In my colour mash up I stamped Bermuda Bay dashes on Bermuda Bay cardstock for a backdrop.
The colours here really are a mash up and you’re probably thinking I am as mad as a hatter for using all these colours together but it was fun.
Enjoy the rest of the hop and the rest of your weekend. Next up is Vicki Boucher, who I’m sure will have something to wow us with.
Thanks for hopping by today. Stay safe and happy crafting.
