Welcome Easter Chick – One Stamp at a Time OSAT

Chick Ewe Out … The One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop team are focusing on Easter Chicks today. What a fun theme this is with Easter upon us.

I fell in love with the Welcome Easter Stamp Set from the Mini Catalogue the moment I saw it. With its bunny, lamb and chick what’s not to like?

I pulled this yellow Designer Series Paper from the Bird Ballad pack that I had sat on my shelf, which I thought a great pairing. Stampin’ Up! pride themselves on coordination, so it’s often worth checking back through your products. The Die for the eggshell came from the Dino Dies, that I cut in whisper white, stamped up with some flowers and coloured in.

Colouring

The Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils are amazingly soft and great for a project like this. Smooth out the colour by using a Blender Pen, which has a glycerine solution inside and blends the colours beautifully. I could have used our Alcohol Blends, but I wanted a softer look for this cute chick.

The new Stitched So Sweetly Dies are worth their weight in gold for that go-to shape for sentiments. It’s just darling with this chick stamped on it. A skinny bold sentiment and a twine bow and Chick ewe out … my card was complete.

Sometimes a Tag is all you need to help coordinate a simple gift to your card. I Die cut the same Eggshell shape and stamped and coloured it the same as the card.  A smaller stitched rectangle was perfect for half the sentiment to sit. If your jar didn’t have the Kilner Jar Lid like this one, where I’ve added a circle of the paper, a belly band around the jar would have worked.

A Kilner Jar full of chocolate Easter Eggs, a cute tag and a matching card … Chick Ewe out, you’ve created a suite little set with very little effort.
