With Poppies being the focal point for the mini catalogue, I just had to offer a Papercrafting Class using them.
Held at both Spaldwick Village and Huntingdon’s Dunelm Mill, we made two cards and a little 3D item.
Simple Stamping showcases the Painted Poppies Stamp Set beautifully. The large flower image created a background to this first card, with no need for Designer Series Paper. Gray Granite helped to tone down what could have become an otherwise vibrant colour palette and allow the poppies to sing. I’ve used a stitched rectangle to die cut the matting layer, but you need not if you didn’t have the stitched dies.
Stepping things up a little and we used the dies to really highlight the star of the show. These dies are just stunning and those poppies just gorgeous! The back layer of each flower was die cut from the Designer Series Paper that offers a watercolour like wash. We left this card without a sentiment, but I gave the ladies a choice of sentiment to add if they wished.
This box was inspired by a fellow Demonstrator, Katja who lives near Leipzig in Europe. We just had to create a 3D flower to add to our box. The dimension helps bring this flower to life.
An elegant set of things to make, we had a lot of fun creating these … even as card toppers or gift tags.
I hope you’ve liked my share and I hope to welcome you to one of my classes in the future. Two and a half hours, day or evening or an All Day Event, I offer plenty of choices. Just click on my Events tab to see my offering and get yourself booked in.
Hoping you’re enjoying a peaceful day.

Hi! Sorry for my ignorance… the die cut background on the second card… where is thaT from? Just gorgeous cards!!
Oh Petra, it’s not ignorance, sometimes these things are used and look totally different or get over looked. Its a die from the Poppy Moments Dies set (151594) It just cuts a beautiful peep through image. Check out page 27 of the mini catalogue if you have one or head over to my shop and search for this product code to take a look. I hope that helps x
ok can you please help me on the second card with the flowers how did you make them do you have step by step instructions? On the second card with the 2 red flowers. why are they 2 different kinds of red? sorry I am so confused. thank you so much for your help!
Oh Gosh Karen, I’m so sorry, your comment was directed to my spam folder and I’ve only just seen this. The second card was created using Dies and Patterned Paper. The Patterned paper had a watercolour wash appearance to it, which helped give the gradient look to the flowers. Poppy Moments are the Dies I used. I hope this helps x
That’s ok! and I figured it out a few days later. Thank you so much!! and I absolutely love these cards. I made 12 of each!
