Blowing out candles is what comes to mind when thinking of kids birthdays, so why not turn to Bonanza Buddies?
I was recently in my craft room designing something entirely different. I often like to have a craft video playing at the same time as I craft for company. Thinking I’d clicked on a recent video, I realised it was an old video from the Crafty Carrot Collective. The talented Susan Wong shared a fabulous card with us using an old set called Picture Perfect.
Despite this not being even close to the theme of the card I set out to create, I knew I immediately had to recreate this with a current stamp set, Bonanza Buddies. A beautiful card I wanted to crank up the colour for a few kids Birthday cards.
Pineapple Punch couldn’t be any more punchy in colour. Fresh, Zesty and super colourful. Tonally, I stamped Pineapple Punch on Pineapple Punch to create a subtle background.
Taking a stitched basic shape square of white cardstock, I randomly stamped the longest, largest parcel to appear as candles across the bottom. Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove offered this fresh palette. The flame is the pom pom from the party hat.
A strip of Gold Glimmer Cardstock, a heat embossed sentiment and a simple bow and the front was complete.
Using the same colours, I stamped Happy Birthday inside and dressed it up with a bow and party hat. What a fun vibrant card and everything I’d not set out to make.
I can’t thank Susan enough for sharing her creativity with me and crafting in my craft room with me that day. I’ve since made this card in two other colourways and love each one just as much.
