Welcome to this month’s All Star Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop, where we’re sharing inspiration using the Peaceful Poppies Suite.
With Designers from around the globe, there’s sure to be plenty of inspiration here to tempt you. Today’s offering is a sneak peek of what you might expect from this month’s Tutorial Bundle. We are being creative with the Peaceful Poppies Suite and for me, I wanted to show you something that moved away from the suites natural colours. Gone have the red and greens for shades of blue and turquoise.
Cutting a piece of Whisper White cardstock as a matting layer, I took to sponging up the entire surface using shades of blue. This wonderful ombre effect was blended together using a mix of sponges and sponge daubers. A full list of the colours used can be found below. If you flick water at your sponged surface, it leaves this great Bokeh effect. I wanted to mix stamped white imagery with die-cut shapes, so took to stamping with Versamark and Heat Embossing first. This simple die-cutting gave a great focal point upon the dark and moody backdrop.
A really simple card finished with scattered sequins, I loved the contrast of crisp white with the bold colour.
