You Can Create it – Feels Like Frost

Today the You Can Create it Team are sharing inspiration using the Fells Like Frost Suite from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. It’s the final pack from last Quarters Kit Pack.

The kit for this Quarter included two 6×6 sheets of the Fells Like Frost Designer Series Paper, some Vellum and Ribbon. We then had the extra kit supplies to pull from to create something beautiful to share.

Today we are sharing what we each created with December’s packet and for me, I came up with two cards and a little Gift Tag.

Both sides of the Feels like Frost papers are stunning. One side offering stunning images of scenes and foliage and the other white and silver foil patterns. As much as the frosted images appealed, I wanted to showcase the foiled side of these papers. I wanted to show how these wintery papers could be used all year round.

The foil side of these papers are White and silver, but I’ve shown here the effects of sponge brayering. I used Seaside Spray and Night of Navy to create this subtle ombré effect. The White Die-cut piece helps to balance the card. The vellum layer beneath adds additional interest.

You might just be able to see here that I used the Shimmery Crystal Effects to add some sheen to the round tips of this Flourish. The sentiment is from a new Stamp Set from the Mini Catalogue that launches on 3rd January. This set is called Label Me Bold and inspired by Million Sales Achiever Jasmin Schulze. It’s a great staple for sentiments.

I switched from stripes to this pattern for my second card and added the beautiful Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon. The Shimmery Crystal Effects is again used in the centre of the Die-cut flower and left to set. It gives the illusion of a shimmery pearl.

Finally, with the scraps, I created a little Gift Tag. A simple but effective little set I hope you’ll agree and I hope you feel I have inspired you today.
