When Christmas is over, it’s often hard to see how to use the predominantly festive sets for other purposes. I recently turned to the beautiful flowers in the First Frost Stamp Set for this Sympathy Card.
I’ve sadly had to make a few sympathy cards of late and really hope I’ll not have to make any more. I’ve loved the All-Around Wreath Die and decided to add a few calming Balmy Blue flowers to a white wreath for this card.
With subtle texture from the Subtle Embossing Folder, the simple Sahara Sand card base offers an elegant foundation. The white die-cut wreath, teamed with pale blue flowers, felt perfectly calming for this card. Night of Navy seemed the most fitting for the sentiment. Dark enough, but not too harsh or bold.
The sentiment was taken from the Well Said Stamp Set and Well Written Dies. By mixing both stamped and a die-cut wording for this overall sentiment, helps give interest and texture. A respectful scattering of iridescent sequins and I felt the card was complete.
Don’t be afraid to mix things up and use an otherwise festive set to create a totally different card theme.
