The 2019 Artisan Design Team are today sharing inspiration with our Tiny Keepsakes bundle and Tags Tags Tags.
This hop marks the end of an amazing year for this inspirational Artisan Design Team and a year that I personally will cherish. From the moment I heard the news, to the announcement in Orlando and all that has come since, I have enjoyed the year immensely. These were just a few of the girls whom I had the honour of meeting at that announcement. We and the other girls have built a fabulous sisterhood that stretches the globe and breaks language barriers too. My remaining wish for this year would have been to have had all 16 of us together at some point. I’d love dearly to meet the others and have us all together … but maybe just maybe that will come in time. After all … we will always be the 2019 Artisan Design Team.
Just a month ago, I managed to meet up again with some of the girls and share this moment with the lovely Sara Douglass, our CEO. The fun, the laughter and the encouragement have been a total blessing this year that I will cherish forever!
Manuela, who you can see stood to the left of Sara above, serves another year on the Artisan Design Team. She’s a very talented lady and has been a pleasure to follow in our monthly hops. I couldn’t be any more delighted for her and can’t wait to follow her in a different way next year. If you’ve hopped on over from Manuela, then you’ll have seen her work already and if not, be sure to take a look. She is one talented lady.
This year has changed the way I create, opening my eyes to many different colours, textures and techniques. My wonderfully supportive Team, The Stampin’ STYlettes, have seen this first hand and commented on the amount of yellow that I’ve used. Yellow has never been my colour … Sunny and cheerful yes, but still not my colour, yet I’ve been drawn to it a lot this year and today is no different.
Knowing just how versatile a tag can be, I decided to showcase the Trio of Tags Die and Tags Tags Tags Stamp Set. Offering images from Halloween, through Christmas to Valentines, I wanted to change the festive mood a little. It was refreshing to be creative with something other than Christmas sets and change the look for Valentines Day.
The inspiration for this set of cards came ironically, from the little felt embellishments in the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit. The Pink, Blue and Coral embellishments I could easily use, but the Crushed Curry ones had me set myself a challenge to use them. I mean, who said that Valentines couldn’t be Black and Yellow?
To give the appearance of a chalkboard, I heat embossed white on black, that would help give a punchy contrast to the vivid rich yellow. The stripes on the banner were stamped using the images from the Tiny Keepsakes Stamp Set. You could so easily create a coordinating treat box using the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box Die, which would be super cute.
A wash of Crushed Curry Ink using an Aqua Painter on Watercolour paper gave this backdrop for the tag toppers and embellishments. Using a Stampin’ Marker you are able to selectively ink up images and words to randomly stamp over the watercolour wash. You can see here that I did exactly this with the arrow through the heart.
There are three sizes of these little felt hearts in the pack, so I spread them out over two cards.
A masculine Valentines card can often be hard to achieve when you think of all the pretty love hearts. Tonally keeping this card predominantly black and focusing on texture and interest, I believe I’ve hit the spot. Enough love without being too gushing.
Oh, how I had fun creating for this hop. I love how one die cuts three tags that can be used for tags or as sentiment panels, as I’ve shown here.
Well, I hope you’ve fallen in love with my offering in this last 2019 Artisan hop. Perhaps I’ve inspired you to consider the things around you more when you create and branch out to using other colours as I have. Even Yellow for Valentines. If you’ve enjoyed following me this past year and you want to continue seeing more, be sure to subscribe to my emails below. I’d love to inspire you further and share more of my work with you.
I now have the pleasure of passing you over to the wonderful Narelle, who also has been selected to serve again on the 2020 Artisan Team. I am quite literally surrounded by talented ladies and I know what Narelle has to share will delight you.
Have a great day, enjoy the rest of the hop and thank you for following me this year and supporting me in my creative dream. It really has been a dream come true.
