Today the You Can Create it Team are sharing inspiration using the Pressed Petals Suite. We share ideas for the Third packet within this Quarter’s You Can Create it Kit, that we hope you’ll like. The fabulously talented Team spreads globally and the styles and ideas offer a real variety.

The Team design from a pre-selected Quarterly Kit chosen by the Team and comprises of a mini kit for each month within that quarter, plus some additional items. Then each month you check back here for inspiration for each kit packet. You’ll get ideas not only from the Team but from others who have purchased and played with the kit themselves. You can also submit ideas to me, made from your kit, to have posted to my blog post. It’s the perfect, ‘try before you buy’ way to have a taster of each collection of the products.
What does it cost?
- For just £15.00 you will receive a Quarterly kit consisting of 3 different kits plus some additional items that’s inclusive of P&P to UK addresses.
- Inspiration can be obtained each month from me and the You Can Create it, Team. You can also submit photographs of your creations using that month’s kit, to have posted to my blog, to share even more inspiration.
The Kit and September’s Packet
September’s Packet has us playing with the pretty Pressed Petals Suite and comes with two random sheets of Designer Series Paper from this suite. The reverse side of this floral piece of Designer Series Paper is a fabulous Wood Grain. Dark and rich, it was a perfect accompaniment to the Soft Suede cardstock.
For my first card, I wanted to create an aperture with the sentiment appearing on the inside of the card. This beautifully detailed die worked so well for achieving this. Small enough without being overbearing, but with plenty of space to take this joyful sentiment. I die cut each layer as I went. I didn’t want to force the die through too many layers.
Using the edge of a ribbon is a great way of adding a flash of something without showing too much. The edge of this Roccoco Rose Ribbon is just perfect for this. I chose a piece of Very Vanilla for the insert.
There is something quite therapeutic about fussy cutting, which I’ve done a lot for these two cards. Don’t you just love this woodgrain paper? Its just so rich and earthy. Loving wood as I do, I didn’t want to cover it up any more, but allow the beauty of the wood to shine through. I think I achieved that.
I carefully coloured the pearls in with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blends Pen and stamped the sentiments with Mossy Meadow ink.
I’m very pleased with how these two cards worked out and I hope you like them. Below you’ll find some more ideas using September’s kit from the rest of the Design Team, so do take a look.
