Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop and a month where we gather together to showcase suites from the Seasonal Holiday Catalogue. Boy, are you in for a treat with today’s hop.
I just know that you’re going to love the colours that Manuela used to create her beautiful projects. She’s so talented. We were each assigned a different suite and for me, I was given the gorgeous Autumnal Gather Together Suite. Leaves and Pumpkins, I decided to home in on the leaves of this set. The idea was to step away from the colours used in the catalogue and to use something entirely different. It was quite hard not to throw in a Green, a brown or rusty colour, so immediately thought of cold Blue and White. Wanting some warmth to this colour combo, I threw in some Copper for good measure.
The detail that can be achieved from the leaf dies if spritzed with water beforehand is amazing and well worth the effort. I started these projects by simply die cutting a whole load of leaves and heat embossing white on vellum. This first sentiment being long and thin lent itself to a DL card of greater length. I wanted there to be a central focus with the sentiment and a real clustering of leaves surrounding it. Hard not to use the Designer Series Paper, but when trying to avoid the same colours I chose the more neutral of patterns and colours. The simple polka dot didn’t detract from the beauty of the leaves. and the wispiness from the heat embossing.
Of course, the Copper Leaf Embellishments worked perfectly with. this suite. It’s a shame that you can’t see the detail in the white leaves here … they are just beautiful.
Gather together some more die cut leaves to create this perfect little wreath and one I’ve used for a Get Well Card. Yes, it’s the season for coughs and colds, so I’m sure we’ll be needing a few Get Well Cards soon enough. Again, some more textured die-cutting was achieved by spritzing the paper before cutting. The impression is so deep.
It was hard to capture the Early Espresso card base here, that’s appearing more black than brown.
By opening out one of the Pillow Boxes that Stampin’ Up! sell and using it as a template, I created my own Early Espresso Pillow Box of the same size. Wrapping the Designer Series Paper around it, trimmed with yet more copper, I set to clustering some more leaves together. This sentiment was simply stamped on a tiny strip of white cardstock for a very peeled back gift tag. I couldn’t resist but attach a copper leaf to the end of each Bow tail. It’s the little details like this that I love.
Well, I hope that if this set hasn’t caught your eye because of the colours it’s been showcased in, that you have seen it in a whole new light now.
I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the hop and all the fabulous colours and inspiration that we have on offer.
Next up is Narelle with her unusual pop of colour, which I love. I’ll say no more, for you can simply click below to take a look for yourself. She has some beautiful projects on offer.
Have a great day and enjoy the rest of the hop.
