Today the You Can Create it Team are sharing inspiration of a nautical theme as we’re Sailing Home. We share ideas for the second packet within this Quarter’s You Can Create it Kit, that we hope you’ll like. The fabulously talented Team spreads globally and the styles and ideas offer a real variety.

The Team design from a pre-selected Quarterly Kit chosen by the Team and comprises of a mini kit for each month within that quarter, plus some additional items. Then each month you check back here for inspiration for each kit packet. You’ll get ideas not only from the Team but from others who have purchased and played with the kit themselves. You can also submit ideas to me, made from your kit, to have posted to my blog post. It’s the perfect, ‘try before you buy’ way to have a taster of each collection of the products.
What does it cost?
- For just £15.00 you will receive a Quarterly kit consisting of 3 different kits plus some additional items that’s inclusive of P&P to UK addresses.
- Inspiration can be obtained each month from me and the You Can Create it, Team. You can also submit photographs of your creations using that month’s kit, to have posted to my blog, to share even more inspiration.
The Kit and August’s Packet

August’s Packet has us playing with the Sailing Home Suite and comes with two random sheets of Designer Series Paper from this suite. I thoroughly enjoyed creating what I have for you this month. Looking at the sheet of newsprint and immediately saw a double layer image. I’d not stamped directly onto Designer Series Paper in a long while and loved the almost watermark like image that I created here.
Firstly I stamped the lighthouse with Memento Black Ink before using the Crumb Cake Duo and Balmy Blue Duo Blends Pens to colour in the image. I just wanted a halo of sky and sea around the lighthouse and didn’t want it solidly coloured.

I loved the almost vintage look that I’ve managed to capture by using this technique. The centre of the die-cut frame made for the perfect sized Gift Tag.

This Sailing Home Stamp Set has some fabulous images within it and they all work so well together.

By fraying the Baker’s Twine, you can create some real texture and interest.

Below you’ll find some more ideas using August’s kit from the rest of the Design Team, so do take a look.
Message me If you’d like to purchase a kit and/or submit a photo to be published. You can also simply click on the BUY Button further up this post. Let’s see what you can create with it and share in the fun!

Mikaela, your projects are lovely. I very much like the vintage look you created using the blends. That was the real surprise for me.
Thank you so much xx
