Today I am sharing with you a Stampin’ Tip using Stampin’ Write Markers to create Faux Watercolour Stamping.
Throughout the year the Artisans are asked to share a variety of tips with you. Today I am sharing a faux watercolour technique that’s easy to create using our Stampin’ Write Markers.
I love this watercolour look that has a relaxed feel about it. Selecting some vibrant colours, I set to creating these step by step instruction for you to try this watercolour stamping for yourself.
The Brush end of the Stampin’ Write Marker is perfect for carefully adding colour to a Stamp image. Picking out and colour in as you choose using the colours of your choice. If you then spritz the surface with water before stamping and holding it there, the water helps the ink seep into the cardstock.
Of course Watercolour Paper would be the best option, but you can always use our Shimmery White Cardstock too. I opted for the later and chose to stamp the image twice, back to back.
You can see here how the ink starts to gently bleed. The beauty of this technique is that each and every piece will be unique in it’s finished effect. I actually loved the effect on the gift-tag here.
Once stamped, I then took an Aqua Painter to add some further colour to the flowers, taking the ink directly from the nib of the pen.
A heat embossed sentiment on a bold dark colour was a great way to counterbalance the vibrancy of the card base.
I love how our sequin packs just always seem to have the most perfectly fitting colours to coordinate with our projects. A few strategically placed and a length of ribbon and the projects were complete.
