Stamping Sunday with Mercury Glass Acetate

The Stamping Sunday Team are sharing inspiration using the Mercury Glass Acetate this month. A new product from the Autumn/Winter seasonal catalogue that launched on 4th September, it’s sure to inspire you.

Oh, this new catalogue has some wonderful new products in it and one is this gorgeous Mercury Glass Acetate. This acetate reminds me of shattered Ice, so it seemed only right to team it with We’ll Walrus Be Friends. What a fabulous Stamp Set this is.

I firstly die cut a Stitched Rectangle from Shimmery White cardstock before embossing. I only embossed half of it with the High Seas Embossing Folder. By taking a Blender Pen, I was able to add hints of colour to the waves before adding a gentle wash of Seaside Spray all over the Sea. A blender pen is a great tool for adding highs and lows of the same colour.

Using the Acetate as a matting layer for this first card, I decided that I wanted to make an entire card from it for my second.

I adhered a stitched rectangle both to the front and the inside of the card, layering them up. The rest of the card was the see-through acetate. I loved this look … something quite different.

Again I used the Blender Pen to colour in the Walrus with Soft Suede ink and the Iceberg with Seaside Spray and Pacific Point.

Also new in the Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue are these gorgeous Snowflake Sequins. I added a few to this card to show that the air was frosty.
