It’s Birthday Bonanza time here at the Stampin’ Creative, as we celebrate Birthdeays.
Today’s post is about sending Happy Wishes to a wild rose and what better way than with scraps.
If you often find yourself discarding pieces that you’ve stamped and/or Die-cut that were just not right for that project, then STOP. What do you do with your scraps and discarded pieces? Well, this year I have set up a little dish that I keep on my desk.
From time to time, I upturn the dish to see what’s in there and what I could make use of to create something new.
I had stamped extra flowers from another project where I had some leftover. Layering the flowers up onto an embossed matting layer, I could see a card coming together. I adore this new Hammered Metal Embossing Folder. Wanting a certain richness to this card, I decided to add a Gold Glimmer layer, which I think worked really well with the Navy.
This sentiment said it all and was the perfect finish with some twine and a few tiny dots of Gold Glimmer paper to tie in with the edging.
All of this from offcuts and discarded pieces from other projects. It really does go to show what we can create with leftovers. A simple card, but one that’s quite effective and super frugal.
FRUGAL TIP for FRUGAL CRAFTING
- Select yourself a small dish or tub to keep on your craft desk
- Add all your unwanted die-cut pieces, stamped images, sentiments and ribbon offcuts.
- Work from this dish when designing or simply design an entire project from these leftovers.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my share with you today. I’m sure the other girls will have some amazing Birthday shares for you. Do head down the list and see what inspiration they too share. Thanks for stopping by.
