Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop, where this month we are showcasing Designer Series Papers (DSP). I was assigned the Woven Threads DSP to create with.
Isn’t it funny how Manuela before me received the same papers to work with and how our projects are both so different? I love what Manuela has created, so if you’ve not seen, before to either hop back or continue round through the hop to take a look. There is some truly fabulous inspiration in this month’s hop that you’ll not want to miss.
I liked the Vintage feel of the papers that I received to play with and at first wanted to create a Scrapbook page, but ended up creating this slider card and Gift Voucher Wallet.
I’ve made a few of these simple slider cards before but wanted this to have a photo frame on the front. A picture frame that could actually be used to hold a photo. I’ve adhered the frame in such a way (3 sides) so that a photo could indeed be slotted in. It might be a photo to represent the occasion that the card is being given for, like an Engagement photo for a Wedding Card.
The fine detail of the Flourish Dies seemed to team up with this suite so beautifully. I also loved Faucted Gems in the same coordinating colours, to add texture and dimension.
Do you see the trim along the bottom of the frame? That’s cut from the Woven Threads Trim. Isn’t it cute?
So often we give Gift Vouchers or Money for Weddings that I wanted to re-make a money wallet that I’d made years ago. Freshened up with new papers, it takes on a whole new lease of life. I cut the Seaside Spray trim edge from the ribbon to tie around the wallet to hold in place.
Inside I kept the same suitable sentiment of love and joy and stamped it on the wallet flap. With two internal compartments, I was able to put a sheet of cardstock for a message to be written, leaving the other compartment for the monetary gift. I just feel this is a far nicer way to dress up the gift of a voucher.
You could make this in any colour and embellished with any season of papers and you’d create a whole new vibe for it.
Measurements for making this Money Wallet
You can very easily upscale and downsize this wallet to suit. I have added the basic measurements here for how I made this one. The concertina sides were easier to measure and score in centimetres, so you’ll not see imperial measurements for those.
Cardstock – 5 3/4″ x 10 7/8″ scored at 4″, 81/8″ / 14.6cm x 27.6cm scored at 10.2cm, 20.6cm
Concertina edges x 2: Cut two pieces of 10cm x 8cm and score every 1cm along the 10cm edge.
- Stick the front and back panel of the concertina panel to the front and back inside edge of the Wallet.
- Add an internal divider if required. Cut to width depending upon where you have positioned your side panels and calculate the height by how high you have positioned it too.
I hope you’ll enjoy creating your own wallet. Don’t forget to check out the Designer Series Promotion that’s currently taking place. Buy 3 packs and choose one FREE (selected packs only).
Now you’ll want to hop on over to see what Narelle has in store for us this month and the rest of this fabulous team.
Have a great day and enjoy the rest of the hop.

awww Thank you so much Tanya xx
Both projects are beautiful Miakela! I do not know if this is the atmosphere here that lends itself to vintage today but I find that emerges a lot of emotion from your creations. And the idea of providing the tutorial is perfect! It’s impeccable for wedding gifts. Thank you for sharing and your creativity! xxx
Gorgeous projects Mikaela – love them both x
