The Artisan Design Team are currently sharing tips and tricks with Dies, so today I share you mine.
Do you ever look at a pattern and see it repeated in your head? Well, that’s exactly what I saw here. I took this die from the Tasteful Backgrounds and made my own. Repeatedly, I die cut through a sheet of Vellum, overlapping the die and rotating it, to create a pattern of my choice.
Creating a unique stencil allowed me to tape it down over a sheet of cardstock to brayer an obré effect over, before stamping some words. You could stamp any image over the stencil to create a unique background.
Gently cleaning the stencil and keeping it stored safely, you’ll get a lot more use out of it and you can always add to it also.
The effect will be different every time, depending upon your colour choice and stamped image/sentiment. Mine is quite subtle but adds an interesting layer for this finished card.
Embossing that stamped layer with the Subtle embossing folder, gave that final touch of texture, before adding the flower embellishment. This flower came from our beautiful To a Wild Rose, Distinktive Stamp Set that’s just gorgeous and the sentiment from Woven Heirlooms. I love this font.
I hope you have enjoyed this Die Cutting Tip and that I’ve inspired you to get creative with your Dies.
Have a great day and a fabulous weekend ahead.
