Welcome to the August Artisan Design Team Blog Hop, where we are showcasing the Shimmer Detailed Laser Cut Designer Series Paper.
Manuela is bound to have already inspired you with her creations and I hope to continue to do more of the same.
These stunning detailed sheets are so delicate – one side its white and the other a beautiful shimmery vanilla. I decided that I wanted to change it up a little and add colour.
I took my colour inspiration from the night sky over our house only last week. We noticed this amazing pink hue and had to go out and investigate. It was stunning and I think I’ve managed to recreate it in my projects here today.
Firstly I took the delicate sheets and cut out this stunning pattern with intwining circles. A Sponge Brayer is perfect for adding colour to these sheets, although you need to be gentle to avoid tearing. I layered four beautiful colours together to create this effect – Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape and Rich Razzleberry. I just loved how it looked over the black and with the pop of Crushed Curry Ribbon.
These Baker’s Boxes are perfect for edible treats of cookies or chocolates. I wanted to jazz up the top but still wanted to be able to see through the laser cut paper.
This final DL Card was created with a layer of Shimmery White Cardstock. I first created the ombré effect over the entire panel using the Sponge Brayers. To create the silhouette, I inked up the laser cut image with Black Memento Ink, before adhering in place.
I love these cute little Library Clips and their addition to these projects. The Nobel Peacock Rhinestones offer two of the colours that I used in my Ombré effect – Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape. I love the depth of colour in these projects, It’s something quite different for me.
