We have just received the news that Stampin’ Up! have made the decision to retire our Paper Trimmer and Bigshot.
On 3rd June 2019, when our new Annual Catalogue launches, the Paper Trimmer and Bigshot will no longer be available. Sadly we have been experiencing supply issues for the blades and also experienced some faulty ones too. We have been working with the manufacturer to resolve the issue, but are still unable to fulfil our requirements. Stampin’ Up! have therefore taken the decision to retire the Paper Trimmer, along with it’s accessory range. We will have a replacement Paper Trimmer in time, but at present, do not have a date for its launch.
The replacement cutting blades will retire with the trimmer and will not appear in our new annual catalogue. We have ordered in what would normally fulfil a six months supply to help with the transition. This quantity may deplete quicker than normal upon this news.
Ordering Blades / accessories
Although we can currently order a maximum of 3 sets of trimmer blades, they are currently out of stock. I would encourage you to attempt placing an order and inputting your email address for notification of when they return. Once the retirement list is officially announced on 15th April, the order limit will increase to six packs per person and will remain at this until the stock is gone. From now until September we will receive intermittent shipments from the supplier. Throughout these months, we anticipate times when the blades will not be orderable.
It is indeed a real shame that this amazing trimmer will be leaving our product range, but as a company, we need to be able to supply products of the highest quality that meet the demands timely. I trust in Stampin’ Up! to find a suitable replacement for us and am excited to see what that will be.
Retirement of the Bigshot
We’re making some big changes to our die cutting/embossing product line that will give us a better opportunity to support the long term vision. Our new Annual Catalogue will not offer a Die Cutting Machine but we will in time. We are working directly with a manufacturer, which will give us greater control and potential in the manufacturing process.
Since we’re using a new supplier, the dies and folders will be manufactured differently; this means the way you use the new style of dies and folders will be a little different than how you currently use our dies. Both the new style and old style dies and embossing folders can work with any die cutting & embossing machine (in some cases, adaptations like shims).
With this in mind, you might like to consider any BigShot accessories that you might like to purchase before they leave.
Price Increases
If you want to save a few pennies, then you might also like to know that cardstock is increasing in price, along with a few other staples. Stampin’ Mist, Stampin’ Sponges, Grid paper and Envelopes along with Inks will all increase a little.
