Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop where we are threading together inspiration using the Needlepoint Nook Suite. Yes this month we share our creations with this fabulous suite.
I just know that my dear friend Manuela will have delighted you with her beautiful creation. She always comes up with stunning work. I wanted to created a little keepsake for a friend to hang and enjoy, so made this neutral framed piece.
I’ve stamped the back up with the Burlap Background Stamp and the frame with the Hardwood Stamp to create the appearance of texture. These colours together offer a great earthiness and an aged rustic feel. Clustering up the flowers and stacking Dimensional foam pads behind some of the flowers, gave greater depth to this project.
The Subtle Embossing Folder gave even further texture to the background and made it appear more fabric like. The Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons were perfect for the centre of the flowers and a few scattered pearls pulled everything together. The fine leaf dies from the Needlepoint Elements Die set are just beautiful. So delicate and a great in fill.
The completed frame needed something else to finish it, so I added a ribbon loop to the top and set to making a tassel from the Old Olive Linen Thread. Adding the tassel to the bottom lengthened this project and the simple sentiment of ‘Friend’, completed it. The font of the Well Written Dies was perfectly fitting.
Where my inspiration came from
It’s a very muted colour palette, but I really like the over all finish and the popping yellow threads, that stand out. This Stamp Set bundle offers a real vintage feel and took me back to my childhood. An embroidery hoop was often on the go with my mother and grandmother. They loved the neutral base and flowers too.
Now I hope you have enjoyed my share with you today and I hope you’ll now head over to see what Narelle has to offer. She too always creates something rather special.
A full list of the products used for this project are listed below and are available through my online UK store.
Enjoy the rest of the hop and have a great Easter weekend.
