A warm welcome to the Creation Station Blog hop this February, where it’s all about Love. Share what you love was the guideline for this month, so I turned to the stars.
Firstly if you’ve hopped on over from the lovely Linda van Wely, then you’ll have already fallen in love with her inspiration. The Twinkle Twinkle suite seemed the most fitting suite to use for todays hop.
I’ve been meaning to get this stamp set inky and this seemed the most fitting occasion. Two different cards, one similar vibe. This first card I created using Watercolour paper with a swish of colour, before heat embossing Silver. I love how banners can look so different depending up on how pointed you make the points.
Subtle Sentiments
A vellum banner allows you to add a sentiment, without hiding what’s going on beneath. It’s a very subtle way of adding a sentiment, without the banner taking over. Don’t you just love these little Twinkle Adhesive Backed sequins?!
To share what you love for me, would mean sharing my love of anything stitched. These Rectangle Stitched Die Frames are just gorgeous and you’ll be sure to get a lot of use out of them. A matting layer that’s been embossed and a layer of the Petal Pink Designer Series Paper and I was ready to add the sentiment.
Do you see how I’ve added a shooting star? The silver baker’s twine comes in two colour ways, the Petal Pink or Pool Party. Both are gorgeous. I wanted the stars to shine, but I didn’t want a bright foil star. The gentle shimmer of glimmer paper was just perfect. The little treat holder was just something that I made with some left over patterned paper and the envelope punch board. Something to take a couple of special chocolates or a token gift perhaps.
I hope you have liked the inspiration that I’ve shared with you today. Do continue with the hop to see what Tanya has in store.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Love that shooting star! And the sparkle Embossing Folder had me thinking a starry background layer.
These are just gorgeous! So sweet!
aww Thank you Linda, so kind xx
Purely beautiful! These are simply stunning!
Thank you so much Jeanna xx
These are such wonderful projects–I love your layered elements. I used almost all of my “blue” patterns in this paper creating for Katharine’s baby shower. I will check my scraps because your projects have definitely inspired some scrapbook element ideas for when the grandson finally arrives!
awwww a Grandson, how lovely. I’m so pleased you like and I’ve inspired you xx
I love these cards and I am casing the one with the heart for a valentines day card for a new beau! How did you atta the velum banner without show the adhesive?
Thank you so much Rosemarie. Oooo a new beau, how lovely. Well you’re going to need this card making fast then. Cut the vellum banner wider than the layer it is going to sit onto, then fold it back around that layer a little and fold out to form the banner ends … so a kind of zigzag. Secure this to the back and you’ll not need to see any adhesive on the front. I hope that makes sense Rosemarie xx
