It’s a warm autumnal welcome from me today, as we offer you Layers of Leaves here at the Creation Station. If you’ve hopped on over from the talented Jennifer Downey, then you’ll have already been spoilt to some fabulous inspiration. I hope I will supply you with yet more.
I love the changing of the seasons and the changing of the leaves as we pass from Summer into Autumn and beyond.
We’ve a few Wedding Anniversaries in the family that fall through the festive period so I picked up the Stamp Set, Floral Phrases. It came to me … “May your love grow stronger, Deeper, and more beautiful with every passing year”. Our leaves indeed change with every passing year, so why not couple this sentiment with this project.
This sentiment is so fitting, that I wanted to use it subtly on the front of the card. Lightly stamped using Gray Granite, I combined it within the Gold Heat Embossed Holly Leaves. You can’t exactly read the entire phrase in one, until you open the card.
I wanted the central panel to be the focal point of colour but with a splattering of colour as if spilling off. The open lines of the leaves embossing in Gold, allow for additional watercolouring to be added to the base case. Layers of leaves in various stages of colour, from none, through a little, to the centre being fully coloured.
This card turned out just how I had hoped for and believe it perfectly fitting for a festive Anniversary.
Who says that Holly can’t appear on an Anniversary card? and who over looked this Holly image available in the Timeless Tidings Stamp Set? I often like the stamp sets that accompany our Card Kits.
Next up in the hop is Tanya Bell and I’m sure she will have something rather beautiful to share.
Enjoy and thanks for hopping by.
