This year’s Father’s Day card has very much been focused on my Father-in-law, who is currently undergoing Chemotherapy. I had made him a card before using this set … a card of encouragement and today, I use it again. He’s a remarkable man who’s facing an awful lot at the moment and more than I care to share here for an 89 year old man. His strength is remarkable, but he still has Radiotherapy to undergo yet … so needs to maintain that strength.
I do like a DL shape card from time to time. Long and narrow, I like how the focal point can be very much to one end. You can stamp the leaves both full strength and second generation, to tone create depth.
I wanted the sentiment to stand out and chose to heat emboss it with Gold Embossing Powder, which I’ve carried over to the inside of the card. I used the stamp set, Make a Difference to create the word ‘Dad’.
I don’t think I’ve ever heat embossed on the inside of a card before, but I really like the difference in fonts and colours here … and why not have heat embossing inside?
I give thanks to all of those amazing Father’s out there. I was fortunate enough to have been blessed with one, whom I miss every day. My husband is an amazing father to our son and his father … is simply inspirational.
I hope whatever you do today, however you spend it … that you have a great Father’s Day.
