This week Stampin’ Up! released their Retirement List for 2018. There was an extensive list of Ink Pads on there, which may have had you wondering what was going on … a Colour Revamp perhaps? Five years ago Stampin’ Up! did a colour refresh and this year, they are offering us a fabulous Colour Revamp.
Goodbyes can be hard but never have I been more so excited to see what new colours are coming. I feel ready for such changes. Fresh and vibrant, there really is something in the changes for everyone.
The spice of life is variety, and that’s especially true in the world of colour. Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on colour trends across different markets and industries. When we see changes happening, we review our colour spectrum to ensure that we remain consistently on top of the trends. This brings about the 2018 Colour Revamp.
We still have four colour collections, each with ten colours, but there is also a new colour group called Basics. We have moved Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Whisper White out of the Neutrals collection and moved a few colours into the Neutrals collection to make it more exciting.
Every year we have five In Colours that arrive and five that depart. They stick around for a two year period and this year we are saying goodbye to these beauties.
Our new In Colours, along with those that carry over will look like this. The new ones are quite primary in colour, but all very lovely.
We have some returning In Colours that I personally know of many who’ll be delighted to hear this. I have a few favourites here myself. I was sad when Poppy Parade left all those years back, Coastal Cabana and Mint Macaron. Well, they are back.
We have ten brand new colours that will be joining us and they look like this. Already I am loving a good few of these.
Slot these and the returning In colours into the new re-jigged colour families and you come up with this. Does it look pretty inspiring?!
Don’t these colour families look just gorgeous! I am loving that we now have some basic colours in the Neutrals range. The Regals look richer, the brights, brighter and the subtles softer still.
Colour Revamp and New Classic Stampin’ Pads
In addition to new colours, Stampin’ Up! have also redesigned their ink pads. The case is a new, more intuitive design with an improved ink formula to avoid foaming.
They still store your ink upside down, which is how they should be stored, but they are easier to open, are now stackable, have a tighter fit lid and have better labelling for easy identification, whether open or closed. They are amazing!! If you should have a Stampin’ Caddy, they do still fit in here, just not so snuggly, so avoid spinning your caddy too fast.
Supplies of the out going colours will run out fast, so be sure to stock up on your favourite and prepare yourself for the new colours coming on 1st June. I’m super excited for these changes. We have been in great need of these for a very long time.
I hope this has helped you to understand the Retirement list a little more and just why there are so many of our staple colours listed.
