Lets Get Hopping 5 – Celebration

It most certainly is a Celebration. We have just entered a New Year and I therefore wish you a very Happy New Year!

 

Welcome to the first Let’s Get Hopping Blog Hop for 2018 and we start the year with a Celebration. It’s a Celebration like no other, with no less than the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! Spring/Summer Catalogue and Annual Sale-a-Bration Promotion so lets Celebrate all things worth celebrating. Firstly welcome to those of you who have hopped on over from Tracy’s blog. I’m sure you’ve already been inspired there.

With Birthday’s come Cake and what better stamp set to choose from the new catalogue than Cake Soirée to deliver that cake.

During our November OnStage Conference, we completed this Make and Take using the new Sweet Soirée Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Silver Mini Gable Boxes and it was this that inspired me to create the card I thought would go well with it.

I knew I wanted to use the Cake with the Celebrate sentiment on top and die cut the cake stand from Silver Foil, but the Silver Foil seemed just too shiny to coordinate with the Mini Gable Boxes as a card base. I decided upon Smoky Slate in the end, which seemed to work better alongside the treat box.

I liked the simplicity of this cad and the white space that allows the cake to sing, but it just needed something else .. but not to the front. I turned to the inside to deliver just that.

A lovely sentiment and a scattering of flowers to the bottom edge in the coordinating colours and I felt the project was complete. I feel I know exactly who this card will be for.

Wouldn’t this set make the most beautiful Wedding Cards?!
