Who said that bigger was better? … Well they also say that good things come in small packages … so which is better? Well we’ll let you make the decision there. This month we are working the small stamps to create some inspiration for you.
The moment I saw the theme for this hop, I immediately thought of a challenge I was set by my Stampin’ Up! Upline many years ago to create a card using up scraps on my desk. Tiny Tags Stamps was something I turned to then and I created this card, which I still love to this day (and if the truth be known, I still own the original).
I decided to use this card as inspiration for what I’d be creating and sharing with you today. I liked the simple clean look and believe that often, less is actually more, so prepare yourself for more simplicity.
I am sharing a couple of sneak peek products from the up coming Spring/Summer Catalogue here with you today. This gorgeous little gift box that would be perfect for a piece of jewellery or a special bar of chocolate and a cute stamp set called, Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts.
New Dies used for Small Stamps
Instead of using gift tags, I decided to switch them for die cut Heart shapes from the Lots of Love Box Framelits Die set that I used to create this cute little box. There are several shapes and sizes of hearts in this set, but this one fitted the small stamps perfectly from the Stamp set. I’m not sure that these photo’s pick up the subtle versamark detailing sat just behind the three hearts. I’ve used this same image inside the card too.
Tone on tone, I added some simple detail using the Ticket Tear Border Punch. The colour on this card, came from using our new Alcohol based pens, Blends.
A very simple card that really isn’t very taxing, but one that shows just how quickly you could use the small stamps within your sets to create a cute little card or gift box.
I do hope you’ll find inspiration in what I’ve shared with you today and that you’ll now head over and see what Jennifer Olea has to share with us.
Happy stampin’
